Montana Senator Daines Votes on Tax Reform
Senator Steve Daines just voted in support of the Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Resolution. Daines joined other Republican lawmakers on trying to pave the way for tax reform.
“Tax reform is the single most important piece of legislation that we can pass this Congress,”Daines stated. “This is exactly what the economy needs right now to keep growing and create more good-paying jobs. We must get this done – we need to put on our American jerseys and do this for the people who elected us. If we don’t get this done, frankly they should send us all home.”
The bill only needed over 50 votes to pass, and not one Democrat voted in favor of the reform bill. If Republicans didn't pass this legislation now, because of a parliamentary rule, it would take 60 votes to pass the next time the bill comes up.
