Montana Man Sentenced for Stabbing Two Sisters to Death

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A sentencing date has been set for a man who pleaded no contest for stabbing two sisters to death in January 2012 in their apartment.

Andrew Denning is expected to face Judge Mary Jane McCalla Knisely on Aug. 19.

In May, Denning pleaded no contest to two counts of deliberate homicide for the killings of Daisy and Rose Edwards.

Billings Police say Denning arrived at the Ponderosa Apartments to exchange sleeping pills for money, but the deal went sour.

Prosecutors are asking for a sentence of 100 years in prison.

According to KULR-TV, Denning told authorities he did not know why he killed the two sisters.
