A Montana high school student has been disciplined for wearing a Confederate flag sweatshirt. The administrators requested that he stop wearing it and he didn't.
The Missoulian says 17-year-old Mitchell Ballas was suspended after wearing the sweatshirt to Big Sky High School every day since last week. The child says he wears the sweatshirt to stand up for his First Amendment rights.

The principal Natalie Jaeger can't comment on matters related to specific students, but noted that several students have been displaying the flag on clothing and cars over the last month. She says other students were upset and reported the students with the Confederate flag.

Administrators reserve the right to discipline students if a student's behavior "constitutes a disruption of the learning environment."
