The 2018 senatorial race in Montana is going to a big one and a very expensive one.

Incumbent Senator Jon Tester is raising money fast. He just added about $2 million to his campaign bank accounts.

Again, out of state money will pour in for the race. Democrats want to keep Tester, who is in lock-step with the party. Republicans think they can add another conservative voice to the senate and Tester can be defeated.

It seems Montanans will have to put up with non-stop radio and television ads. That is good for local television and radio stations but maybe not so good for the public.

And if the recent Montana congressional Gianforte vs. Quist election is any sign, we can expect a very nasty, dirty election.

Tester has already raised over $4.5 million for the 2018 election. Tester, from Big Sandy, is a two-term United States senator.
