Missoula Police have already made numerous DUI arrests this week and, according to Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh, they made another one late Wednesday night.

"At about 11:45 p.m., an officer made a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Railroad Street after he had observed a driver cross the center of the roadway and into the oncoming traffic lane," Welsh said. "He made contact with the driver and identified him as 27-year-old Ethan Ovitt.

It appears that Mr. Ovitt had recently left a house where he had been drinking.

"The indications at least initially, were that he had been drinking alcohol," Welsh said. "A little further investigation revealed that Mr. Ovitt had had at least three prior DUI convictions, making this one a felony."

Even though he was seen driving into an oncoming lane, Ovitt will not be facing a reckless endangerment charge because there was no traffic at the time of the incident.
