A Missoula couple were surprised by noises in their kitchen at around 7:30 Wednesday evening.

"They were sitting in the house, watching TV," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. "One of them heard a door close and got up to investigate and found Mr. Cody Thomas in their kitchen, looking in the refrigerator. The male of the house told Thomas he needed to leave and had to actually physically push him out the door."

While leading the man to the door, the homeowner noticed that his refrigerator had been raided.

"Mr. Thomas had taken a water bottle from the interior and thus has been held for a charge of burglary," Welsh said. "The male resident recognized it in his pocket as he was escorting him out."

23-year-old Cody Thomas is being held on a $50,000 bond for burglary and also received criminal trespass charges over the incident. He is also facing an extra $1,000 bond for failing to appear in court on a prior charge.
