Michael Stipe introduced Bernie Sanders at his rally at Coney Island yesterday (April 10), and the former R.E.M. frontman hung around to have lunch with the Democratic presidential candidate.

Stipe, Sanders and Sanders’ wife, Jane, enjoyed Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs ahead of New York’s primary next Tuesday, April 19. This particular photo op is at least bound to go over better with New Yorkers than the time GOP candidate and Ohio Governor John Kasich ate pizza with a fork and knife. Besides, Sanders is racking up a very impressive list of lunch dates.
