Missoula Police got a call after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, January 24, about a local break-in.

"The Missoula Police Department took a report of a burglary at a storage unit facility in the 5000 block of Expressway," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. "The complainant reported that locks had been cut off of storage units, that some of them had been entered an items were missing. Then about 3:45 in the afternoon Police received a report of a female passing an altered check at a local bank."

A white SUV with stolen plates was videoed at both crime scenes and police were able to track the vehicle down to a local hotel where they decided to watch and wait.

"They saw a female enter the SUV and drive away, they initiated a traffic stop and subsequent to that a female identified as Taylor Corne, 25 years of age was taken into custody. She provided information that she was staying with an adult male in the hotel. Initially, the adult male, identified as Kieffer Morely (24) tried to barricade the door to his room.

Police pushed through the door and Morley was arrested without further incident. Last May, Morely was arrested in Helena after breaking into a house and pepper spraying two adults and a one-year-old toddler, police reports indicate the toddler struggled to breathe after the attack. While Morely was in jail for assault he was charged in association with a number of forged checks.
