A 57-year-old Lolo man has pleaded not guilty to sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl.

The Missoulian reports Danny Wayne Johnston entered his plea Tuesday in Missoula County District Court to two counts of sexual intercourse without consent.

Charging documents say the girl told her mother and interviewers at the First Step program for victims of sexual assault that Johnston made her perform oral sex on him twice.

The documents say Johnston claimed the girl was the aggressor.

Judge Karen Townsend denied a request from public defender Steven Scott to lower the construction worker's bail from $200,000 to $30,000.

Assistant Chief Deputy County Attorney Jennifer Clark asked the judge to keep the bail amount because Johnston violated his probation on a 2009 conviction of felony DUI.
