The House originally passed HB 303 that would have made local sheriffs the law of the land. But on the third and final vote, it went down 53-47 in the house and will not make it's way to voters on the 2014 ballot.

The measure would have required federal agents to obtaining the sheriff's permission before carrying out local arrests and searching and seizing property. It also would have allowed for the prosecution of federal employees who did not comply with the law.
