A new play is opening in Livingston. The Blue Slipper theater is presenting, The Woolgatherer. Written by William Mastrosimone, the play is a very popular two-person show with adult themes and drama.

The story takes place in Philadelphia. Two lonely people reach out to each other. Rose is a candy counter clerk and Cliff is a truck driver. The evening they spend together changes them both. Rose’s romantic dreams are challenged by Cliff’s rough-edged wit. Their longing for love keeps pulling them together and pulling them apart.

The Hollywood reporter says:

[Mastrosimone] has a knack for composing wildly humorous lines at the same time that he is able to penetrate people’s hearts and dreams.”

The Woolgatherer stars locals Michelle Zizian and Rich Valiant and is directed by Rebecca Ruhd. The Woolgatherer runs October 27, 2017 through November 12, 2017. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees are at 3 p.m.
