A trucker from Great Falls, John Jaycob Fishbaugh, 56, appeared in Missoula Justice Court on Wednesday, charged with felony sexual intercourse without consent and sexual assault of a nine year-old girl.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Selene Koepke asked Judge Karen Orzech for $200,000 bail, due to the serious nature of the sex crimes Fishbaugh is alleged to have committed.

"We believe the defendant is a danger to the community," Koepke began. "The defendant isolated and abused his girlfriend's granddaughter during a long-haul truck trip for his business. The defendant did this multiple times during the trip, and then attempted to blame the victim for climbing into bed naked with him. The defendant also saw no issue about sleeping naked with the nine year-old victim, nor with taking showers with her."

Both charges carry a possible penalty of 100 years to life in prison and a maximum fine of $50,000.

Judge Orzech agreed and set bail at $200,000. Fishbaugh was remanded back to the Missoula County Jail. His next court appearance will be September 30.
