At around 4:30 p.m. today, August a wind-blown grass fire broke out near Lewis and Clark Drive in Lolo before being tamped down by crews from the Missoula Rural Fire Department.

"It grew to about an acre," said Missoula Rural Fire spokesman Jason Butler. "Some bystanders said they saw lightning start the fire, but we weren't sure how it started."

The fire damaged no major property, but did manage to chew through some fence line.

The blaze was put out in about thirty minutes and there were no injuries.
