Governor Steve Bullock will visit the Bozeman Head Start program and discuss his proposal to expand access to high-quality early childhood education in Montana. On Monday, Bullock released details of his Early Edge proposal to make voluntary early childhood education programs available in every Montana community.

High-quality early childhood education has been shown to have dramatic positive impacts on student success and the economy. Students who take part in high-quality early childhood programs are more likely to read at grade level and graduate high schools, and less likely to repeat a grade, require special education, get into trouble with the law, and abuse drugs. In addition, studies have shown that for every dollar spent on these programs, communities see $7-$9 return on investment through savings and increased economic activity.
