In commemoration of the anniversary of 9/11, Montana Governor Steve Bullock has ordered all American flags to be flown at half-staff on Thursday, September 11.

Spokesman Dave Parker said the Governor issued the proclamation late Wednesday afternoon.

"The Governor is just now issuing a proclamation ordering the flags across Montana to be flown at half-staff on Thursday," Parker said. "This is to honor the individuals who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001, and also in observance of Patriot's Day and the National Day of Service."

There will be a ceremony commemorating 9-11 on the grounds of the Missoula County Courthouse on Thursday at noon, with a short message from Mayor John Engen. On Thursday evening at 7, the United Veterans Council will present a ceremony at the Vietnam and Korean War Memorials in Rose Park.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend both ceremonies.
