Congressman Greg Gianforte in Washington is working hard to help Montana veterans. According to his office, he helped pass a package of bills meant to benefit our veterans.

“Our veterans and their families have sacrificed so much in the defense of our nation and our way of life. Too often, they have been left behind by a federal system that neglects their most fundamental needs,” Gianforte said. “It is only right that we stand up to ensure our veterans receive the benefits they have earned and deserve for their selfless service.”

Funding from one bill is for extended the Veterans Choice Program that helps former soldiers get needed care from doctors outside the VA system.

Another bill improves and modernize parts of the GI Bill. It gives new service members more access to job training and more education. Now they will be able to use their benefits over their whole lives. They used to only have the benefits for just 15 years.

Gianforte also worked on getting passed one new bill that heightens the VA's ability to locate the best health care providers for service members.

Veterans have earned their benefits, and Gianforte says he is trying to make sure they are able to use them.
