Gallatin College MSU is Southwest Montana’s two-year college, offering associate degrees and one-year professional certificates, complementing the four-year programs at Montana State University and ensures access to workforce development that promotes a vibrant local economy. Collaborating extensively with area industries to develop new programs and provide responsive training options that meet local workforce needs.

Transfer Degrees: Associate of Science (AS), Associate of Arts (AA)

Associate of Applied Science (AAS): aviation, interior design, design drafting

Certificate of Applied Science (CAS): bookkeeping, health information coding, medical assistant, residential building performance, welding, CNC machine technology.

Professional Certificates: Business Management

July 22: The Business Management Professional Certificate provides students for a career as a successful small business owner and opens the door to a variety of professional careers. The required courses include: Introduction to Business, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Small Business Entrepreneurship, and Advertising. Students will also be required to complete 3 elective courses to complete the certificate. The credit structure is sixteen required credits and nine credits of elective requirements for a total of 25 credits.

 July 29: One of the newest workforce programs is (CNC) Computer Numeric Control machine technology program. Students will learn how to operate a variety of CNC machines using CAD/CAM systems and gain knowledge about tools such as: milling, turning, cutting, drilling, and finishing products or component parts. Students will receive a Certificate of Applied Science degree (CAS) along with NIMS, National Institute for Metalworking Skills – an industry recognized credential. They will also obtain a level 1 and 2 Haas Automation machine certificates.

August 5th: Dual Credit classes are classes that students can take in high school for both college and high school credit at the same time. They are offered for half price tuition and no fees. Program information at mus.edu/dualcredit

August 12th: Medical Assistant and Health Information Coding Programs - two certificate options both one year programs, medical assistant and medical coder.  Both take nationally recognized certification exams.  The coding program is brand new!

August 19th: Discussion about Gallatin College’s Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degree’s.

August 26th: Dean Bob Hietala will discuss what the upcoming Fall semester
