If you love to float the Madison, something I just did last year for the first time after 20 years in Bozeman, tonight the Fish Wildlife and Parks is having a meeting tonight at the Comfort Inn in Bozeman from 6-8 talking about charging, regulating or eliminating floating on the Madison.

The reasons for this discussion are many. On the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks site they explain:

The popularity of the Madison River has affected the quality of the recreation experience for some people. Their concerns include congestion on the river and at access sites, conflicts between user groups, trespass on private property, and littering.

You can take a survey from Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks here to voice your concerns if you cannot make the meeting.
