According to Rep. Steve Daines further bad news about Obamacare is to continuing to come to light. A headline this week in the Washington Post said, “Older women bear the brunt of higher insurance costs under Obamacare.”

The article went on to say that a University of Pennsylvania study found “that women age 55 to 64 will face a huge spike in cost when they go out to buy individual insurance on the federal exchange. These women bear the brunt of the increased premiums and out of pocket expenses after the Affordable Care Act.”

The report determined “women age 55 to 64 will pay from $2,185 to $2,738 more in premiums and out of pocket expenses under the new health insurance environment than they did pre-ACA.”

A different study by the Manhattan Institute found that the average increase of individual market health insurance premiums for women age 64 in Montana increased 35 percent due to Obamacare.

Congressman Daines further said he will continue fighting to fully repeal the President’s failed health care law and working toward real solutions that protect Montanans’ pocketbooks and access to the doctors and health care plans they want.
