When Paul Ryan announced his retirement from Congress, political leaders from all 50 states praised him on his work as Speaker of the House. Democrats and Republicans all agree that he was an honorable man. Ryan says he is leaving politics to spend more time with his family.

Our congressman, Greg Gianforte, who has been in Congress for less than a year, had some high praise for Ryan.

“Paul Ryan did not seek the speakership, but he stepped up to assume the role at a critical moment. A selfless public servant, Speaker Ryan has guided the House of Representatives to substantial conservative accomplishments, including the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act which is helping hardworking Montanans. Speaker Ryan is a principled conservative and a deeply committed family man. I am grateful for his service to our country and will miss his thoughtful leadership.
