Congressional Delegation Congratulates John Winters on Merchant Marines Appointment

Senators Jon Tester and Steve Daines and Representative Ryan Zinke congratulated John Winters on his appointment to the United States Merchant Marines Academy.

Winters was nominated and congratulated on his academy nomination by Montana’s entire Congressional delegation.

“John Winters has proven himself to be a leader in his school and his community and I’m confident that he will thrive as he continues onto his next challenge as a Merchant Marine,” Daines stated. “I’m proud to congratulate John today on his appointment and I look forward to watching him continue as a leader of our state and nation.”

“Thanks to his hard work, perseverance, and commitment to others, John is now fulfilling his lifelong dream of serving our nation,” Tester said. “Having already honed these important qualities, he will no doubt excel at the academy as a service member, a student, and a leader.”

The U.S. Merchant Marines Academy is located in Kings Point, New York.
