Road near Central Park that was closed due to the fire is now open.

Gasoline Tanker fire on High St, Belgrade - Updated 7:28 PM

At 5:15 PM there was a report of a fire at or around High st in Belgrade.  The initial report was that it was a large grass fire.  Central Valley units responded and found that a fuel tanker type vehicle and an above ground fuel tank were fully involved with fire.  The initial units from Central Valley Fire district made contact with the driver of the fuel tanker.  He received 1st and 2nd degree burns on his hands and face and was transported to BDH by AMR.

21 fire apparatus responded through mutual aid agreements with 45+ fire fighters.  Water was shuttled to the fire by vehicle tenders and the fire was called under control at 6:40.  Crews are currently mopping up small exposure fires in the area.

Central Park Evacuation Update - 6:45 PM

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office is evacuating residents near Central Park which is west of Belgrade and north of the Frontage Road. Residents who live north of the Frontage Road, west of Thorpe Road, and east of the Gallatin River are being evacuated.

Residents are being evacuated due to a gasoline tanker that exploded and was on fire. Fire crews have been working diligently and have reduced the risk significantly from the time of the initial call. Crews will continue to stabilize the incident before residents will be allowed to return to their homes.

From the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office:

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office is evacuating a 2 mile area around Central Park located north of the Frontage Road west of Belgrade. All residents in this area are being evacuated due to a gasoline truck that exploded and is on fire.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office has used reverse notification to notify 141 residences within a 2 mile radius of the incident and are evacuating residents immediately.

The Frontage Road is shut down between Four Dot and Manhattan. Interstate 90 is not affected at this time.
