Bozeman’s Walk/Bike/Wheel to School Day May 7th
Walk/Bike/Wheel to School Day will be recognized in all of Bozeman’s elementary and middle schools with celebrations of students biking, walking and wheeling to school. This date reinforces the Safe Routes to School goal of changing the habits of an entire generation, and creating sustainable and long-lasting walking and biking programs. The event builds on the popularity of Walk to School Day, which is celebrated in the District, across the country – and the world – each October.
Morning activities will be hosted by each school and many schools will have activities throughout the week and month of May. Highlights include a Hawthorne Elementary School bike train beginning at Bridger Creek Golf Course with an escort from the Fort Ellis Fire Engine 1-2, bike tune-ups at Morningstar Elementary School and Sacajawea Middle School, and a Bike Rodeo at Hyalite Elementary School (after school). Most morning activities will begin at 8 a.m. For specific information about gathering sites, please contact your child's school principal.
