Monday, the Bozeman City Commission voted to approve affordable housing changes. What that means is that the commission will take $80,000 from the general fund to loan $10,000 for down payments on new homes.

The vote was unanimously passed by the Commission. City Commissioner Jeff Krauss today on Dominick In The Morning talked about why he voted for measure. Krauss said when the home owner sells the house the $10,000 goes back to Bozeman and can be used again to help another family trying to buy a home.

The potential home buyers must meet certain requirements to qualify for the loan from the city. The City Commission will get together again in May to talk about more affordable housing options for Bozeman.
