Bozeman was the sixth fastest growing “micro area” in the country between July 2013 and July 2014.

That’s according to information released today by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Topping the list of fastest growing micro areas was Williston, North Dakota (1) and Dickinson, North Dakota (2).

A micropolitan area is defined as having an urban core of at least 10,000 people and less than 50,000.

4. Andrews, Texas 4.0

6. Bozeman, Mont. 2.8

9. Sandpoint, Idaho 2.2

10. Clewiston, Fla 2.0

The Villages, west of Orlando, was the fastest growing metro area in the nation between 2013 and 2014, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Gallatin County continues to grow, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The county’s population estimate as of July 1, 2014 was 97,308. A year before, the county’s population was estimated at 94,694.

Gallatin County’s population was 89,513 at the time of the 2010 census.
