For the first time in five years, President Barack Obama used his veto pen, to strike down the bipartisan Keystone XL Pipeline bill. Governor Steve Bullock was swift to respond releasing the following statement:
The Republican-controlled Congress has cleared a bill approving the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline. That sets up a confrontation with President Barack Obama, who has threatened to veto the measure.
Today Montana Senator Steve Daines condemned "the partisanship and political games," including President Barack Obama’s recent veto threat, that "have delayed the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline for more than six years."
